Barbican Observatory, 2018
This project emerged as an exploration of abstraction and perception. Presented as a series of plates, each frame isolates a moment where photography begins to behave more like painting. Colour bleeds into darkness, contours soften, and the boundary between subject and image dissolves.
The pond became a space to blur perception. A quiet, immersive environment where time slowed and reality felt suspended. The work builds an alternate underwater world, existing somewhere between documentation and imagination.
This series continues an ongoing approach to photography not as a tool for representation, but as a means of constructing a sensory experience..
